One of my latest personal projects in PHP is a lightweight image crawler that uses curl. The project mainly came out of boredom and a desire to keep my skills up while I am out of country. There is still lots to do but the thing is still chuggin’ away after several weeks and millions of rows later.

Here are some things for me to work on (or anyone who else is interested)

• Begin gathering alt/title tags as well as urls
• Check for dead images on image scrape
• Better faulty link detection
• Self cleanup – automated removal of dead links / images
